Volunteer — Fall 2024 Student Summit

We are looking for volunteers to help us make the student summit run smoothly. Even an hour or two of your time can make a big difference. Below is a schedule of the summit and an overview of the volunteer shifts we still need coverage for.

Saturday, September 28, 2024, Watsonville High School

  • 9:30-10:00 am: Check-in, Breakfast & Resource Fair
  • 10:00-10:10 am: Break
  • 10:10-10:40 am: Welcome & Keynote Speakers
  • 10:40-10:50 am: Break
  • 10:50-11:20 am: Caucuses
  • 11:20-11:30 am: Snack Break
  • 11:30 am – 12:20 pm: Workshop Session #1
  • 12:20-12:30 pm: Snack Break
  • 12:30-1:20 pm: Workshop Session #2
  • 1:20-1:30 pm: Closing Ceremony
  • 1:30-2:00 pm: Catered Lunch & Resource Fair
  • 2:00 pm: End

Transportation

The Summit is providing transportation or arranging carpools for volunteers who sign up for multiple volunteer shifts. Please let us know in the sign up form if you need a ride or can offer a ride. Thank you!

Community Service Hours

If you need credit for Community Service Hours, please share your address and any other details needed on the sign up form. We will mail out letters shortly after the event.

Volunteer Check-in

  • 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: Greet & welcome our team / 3 volunteers needed filled
  • 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Greet & welcome our team / 8 volunteers needed filled
  • 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Greet & welcome our team / 5 volunteers needed filled
  • 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Greet & welcome our team / 1 of 3 volunteers needed

Parking Assistants

  • 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM: 2 volunteers needed
  • 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM: 2 volunteers needed
  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: 2 volunteers needed
  • 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM: 2 volunteers needed

Set up / Take Down

  • 7:15 AM – 9:00 AM: Morning set-up / 20 volunteers needed
  • 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Decorations / 4 of 5 volunteers needed
  • 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Lunch clean-up / 2 of 5 volunteers needed
  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Post-event takedown/classroom clean-up / 7 of 10 volunteers needed

Food / Cafeteria

  • 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM: Breakfast and snack table set-up / 7 volunteers needed
  • 8:45 AM – 10:30 AM: Serving breakfast / 7 volunteers needed
  • 9:00 AM – 11: 00 AM: Breakfast and snack table clearing/reset / 4 volunteers needed
  • 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Lunch prep / 4 volunteers needed
  • 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Snack table monitors / 2 volunteers needed
  • 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM: Lunch set-up/serving / 7 of 10 volunteers needed

Directional Guides

  • 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM: Help attendees navigate the summit space / 6 volunteers needed
  • 9:45 AM – 10:15 AM: Help attendees navigate the summit space / 4 of 6 volunteers needed
  • 10:30 AM – 11:45 AM: Help attendees navigate the summit space / 3 of 6 volunteers needed
  • 11:45 AM – 12:45 AM: Help attendees navigate the summit space / 1 of 5 volunteers needed

Miscellaneous Support
