Santa Cruz County schools’ curriculum is about to get more diverse. 🏳️🌈 A cohort of teachers met for the first time on December 2, 2017 to get professional training to teach LGBT history in their classrooms. A $9,800 grant from the Diversity Partnership Fund/Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County was recently awarded to Queer Youth Task Force of Santa Cruz County to support its program, the Safe Schools Project, in this work. In July, California became the first state in the US to teach LGBT history in their curriculum. See more about the work of these teachers here.
