About the Workshop

Presenters:

Max Silverstein (they/them)

Adult Led

Session: 1 & 2

Level: Intermediate

For: Both Middle and High School Students

Description:

From Pride, to drag shows, to LGBTQIA2S+ kickbacks, partying has a long history in the queer community! For some, experimenting with substances is a part of how they socialize and connect to others. In our workshop, we’ll cover how to reduce harm for yourself, your friends, and your community (whether you use substances or not!). You’ll learn about how to: identify/respond to an overdose, create a party safe plan, and access local resources. Together we can save lives!

About the Presenters

Max Silverstein (they/them) is a queer transmasc who grew up in the Bay Area. After graduating UCSC in 2023, they wanted to help serve the community they had grown to love so much. They work with SafeRx to offer presentations about substances, distribute Narcan, and create resources to help folks keep themselves and their communities safe. When they’re not working, Max loves to spend time by playing D&D or hanging out with their partner and 2 cats.
