If you or someone you know is experiencing challenges related to LGBTQIA2S+ inclusion, safety, or belonging at school, we're here to help.

The Safe Schools Project works directly with students, teachers, administrators, school staff, districts, parents, caregivers, and families to effectively address issues of bullying, discrimination, or biased curriculum and/or instruction in K-12 schools. We also work with LGBTQIA2S+ and allied teachers who face discrimination or hostile work environments in their schools due to their LGBTQIA2S+ identities or their inclusive curriculum.

We provide guidance on student rights and best practices in supporting LGBTQIA2S+ youth to ensure schools understand their legal responsibilities to protect all youth. We also partner with other community organizations to connect students, schools, and families to additional resources and supports.

Students, parents and caregivers, school staff, and administrators can click the button below to submit a concern and request support for issues affecting LGBTQIA2S+ community members in school settings. Examples include bullying or harassment, discrimination, anti-LGBTQIA2S+ policies or practices, barriers to inclusion, or other situations impacting a student's well-being or school experience. Submissions may be anonymous or may include contact information for follow-up responses.

After receiving your request, our Response Team will review the information and determine the most appropriate way to provide support. Depending on your needs, we may:

• Provide direct consultation or intervention.
• Meet with school staff or administrators to strengthen their capacity to address the situation internally.
• Share resources, guidance, or educational materials.
• Connect you with community organizations or service providers that can offer additional support beyond our scope.

Our goal is to help create safer, more affirming, and inclusive school environments where LGBTQIA2S+ students can learn, participate, and thrive.
