About the Caucus
Presenter:
Ellis Olivas (they/them)
Young Adult Led
Level: Beginning
For: Both middle and high school students
Description:
This is a support discussion which focuses the experiences of students who are on the asexual and/or aromantic spectrum, including grey-area identities, which may involve experiencing sexual or romantic attraction rarely or only under specific circumstances. The most commonly discussed grey-area identities include demisexuality, demiromanticism, greysexuality, and greyromanticism, although many others exist. All students who identify as being on the asexual spectrum, aromantic spectrum, or both, are invited to join our conversation about shared experiences related to those identities.
About the Presenter
Ellis Olivas (they/them) is an intern at QYTF who identifies as demisexual and greyromantic. They were a 2015 Queer Youth Leadership Awardee for trans-focused advocacy at SVHS and have been volunteering with QYTF since then. They have worked as an office assistant for a number of years and are currently covering prerequisites for medical school at Cabrillo College. Despite being older than most caucus facilitators, they’re honored to help create a space for ace and aro spectrum students to discuss their experiences.
