Description: This is an art workshop focusing on the works of Haring and Basquiat. Their art, friendship, and advocacy for AIDS awareness and anti-racism demonstrates the power of intersectional social justice work through art. The workshop includes a 15-minute lesson followed by time for creative expression (art supplies provided).     

About the Presenter

Jillian Wilson (she/her)

Jillian is the Young Adult Librarian at Watsonville Public Library. She is an ally and an advocate. Jillian  recently served on the selection committee for SCCOE’s initiative to identify essential LGBTQIA+ books for K-12 libraries and classrooms. She loves to read, especially horror/suspense novels, and is always on the hunt for her next favorite book. She lives in Hollister with her husband, their two young adult children, and two dogs.
