Youth Led

Level: Beginning

For: Both middle and high school students

Description: Guinea Pig Care: The Queerest Pet will teach you a brief history of Guinea pigs and the foundations of Guinea pig husbandry, including habitat, diet, and socialization, in the most beginner-friendly form possible. With this knowledge, you can determine whether or not Guinea pigs are the appropriate animal for you to keep, or just learn a wealth of fun, new information.

About the Presenters

Juniper Brown (He/They) is a 17-year-old autistic transgender student who has a special interest in the South American rodent family caviidae, but is especially knowledgeable in the domestic Guinea pig cavy. He’s a painter, graphic designer, martial artist, and an advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. Juniper has had the pleasure of educating people on Guinea pigs in the past, and is excited to share his expertise again so that participants may learn to be conscious of Guinea pig care.
