Please help us make the Summit run smoothly. We are looking for volunteers to help with a few aspects of the event and if you have an hour or two to spare during the day of the event between 8:00 am – 3:00 pm on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Watsonville High School in Watsonville, please contact Oliver Cantrell, Fall 2019 Summit Volunteer Coordinator, at email or (831) 427-4004.
If you need credit for Community Service Hours, please share your address and any other details needed. We will mail out letters shortly after the event.
There are two Summits — The The Queer, Trans & Allied Student Summit & The Parent/Guardian Summit — both on the same day and time. Volunteers are needed for both.
Volunteer opportunities on Saturday, October 5th include:
Parent/Guardian Summit
- 8:00 am – 10:30 am – Volunteer Host/Greeter: 1 volunteer
Greet and check in all volunteers, guest speakers, and workshop presenters. - 8:00 am – 9:00 am – Morning Set up: 5 volunteers
Set up tables, chairs, linens, buffet tables & breakfast, name badges, registration, etc. - 9:00 am – 11:00 am – Breakfast & Snack Table Monitors: 1 volunteer
Make sure the breakfast tables are clean. Make sure there is plenty of food and supplies accessible. Clean up empty dishes and containers if they can’t be refilled. Maintain Snack Table. - 9:00 am – 10:00 am – Registration Check-in: 1 volunteer
Registration check-in and assist attendees with their correct name badge and print any last minute registration name tags. - 10:30 am – 12:30 pm – Volunteer Host/Greeter: 1 volunteer
Greet and check in all volunteers, guest speakers, and workshop presenters. Includes late check-in for attendees. - 11:00 am – 1:00 pm – Snack Table Monitors: 1 volunteer
Make sure the snack tables are clean. Make sure there is plenty of food and supplies accessible. Clean up empty dishes and containers if they can’t be refilled. Prep for lunch. - 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm – Miscellaneous Support: 1 volunteer
Miscellaneous tasks plus distribution and collection of evaluations. - 12:45 pm – 2:00 pm – Afternoon Catering Setup Crew: 4 volunteers
Help set up for the lunch break and prepare food–helps make the prep smooth. During lunch, help serve lunch to attendees. Help with clean up. - 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm – Post Event Cleanup Crew: 3 volunteers
Put away tables and chairs in the library and make sure the library is cleaned and left in the same set up. Take down posters, decorations, signage, etc.
