Hi GSA, QSA & SAGA Advisors,
The Safe Schools Project of Santa Cruz County is proud to announce the 1st Annual Graduation Ceremony for LGBTQIA+ High School, Junior High, and Middle School Students via live streaming.

We are asking for your help to make the LGBTQIA+ graduation ceremony a success! Please note the quick turnaround due dates — thank you!
Call for GSA Advisors Video Dedications
- Each of you are vital to student success — please consider recording a 30-45 second congratulatory message.
- Due Friday, May 15 by 5:00 pm

Call for Graduate Registration
- Please help us get as many graduating LGBTQIA+ and ally high school, GED, junior high and middle schools to be part of the LGBTQIA+ graduation ceremony!
- Students get to select a rainbow, bi or trans tassel
- Students will also receive a goodie bag with certificate, commencement booklet, and surprise gifts!

- Graduate registration by Friday, May 15 (first round) to be in the video montage & Wednesday, May 20 to be in the commencement booklet.

Goodie Bag Distribution
- Students
are given two options — picking up their goodie bag at school at a
designated time or having the goodie bag dropped off where they live.
- Action Item — If you would like to have your students goodie bags dropped off to you so you can distribute them with social distancing, we are glad to accommodate. Deliveries will most likely happen Tuesday, May 26
- Please respond to this email by Friday, May 22 with your options (and location with address if you’d like them delivered to you).
Call for GSA, QSA, SAGA President, Co-president, Vice-president Speeches
- In
addition to adult elected officials being asked to share congratulatory
messages, our goal is to make sure the LGBTQIA+ graduation ceremony
celebrates youth leaders — please consider asking student officers in
your GSA, QSA or SAGA club being a speaker.

Call for Artwork
- To help make the LGBTQIA+ graduation ceremony extra special, we are seeking submissions of student artwork to include in the ceremony and LGBTQIA+ 2020 yearbook.
- Students can upload photo’s of their artwork.
- If you have photos of previous student artwork, please consider submitting those as well.

Call for Performances — Singers
- Students are encouraged to record a song and be included in the LGBTQIA+ graduation ceremony!

Family, Teacher, Principal & Community Dedications
- If
you are aware of any parent/guardian of GSA, QSA, SAGA graduating
students that would be open to making a general congratulatory message
to the entire LGBTQIA+ class of 2020, we’d love to include them in the
ceremony.
- If members of your GSA, QSA or SAGA would like to make an overall congratulatory message, that would be lovely.
- If your principal or school leaders would like to do the same — a general congratulatory message, that would be very welcome.
